Team Coverage of Tragedy at Nursing Home

Covering tragedy is never easy but when you shoot network news, it’s in the job description.  Most national news depicts a person or a community’s best day ever or the worst day of their lives.  Unfortunately on Sunday, March 29th four Go To Team video crews got the call to cover a nursing home shooting in Carthage, NC.  Richmond, VA based Nick Modisett, Charleston, SC based Tom Wells, Charlotte, NC based Dave Baker and Raleigh, NC based Jimmy Hall all worked for different national news organizations, including NBC and ABC, to bring the story to millions of people across the country.  In all, eight people were killed.  The death toll might have been higher if it wasn’t for the heroic act of the only police officer on duty that morning.
