Nashville Crew Trumps for CNN

Donald Trump, Jim Acosta and Peter Leininger walk into a political rally and the truck can’t see the feed…that’s no joke.

We recently shot a Donald Trump rally for CNN in Little Rock, AR. Our on air talent was Jim Acosta, CNN’s Senior White House Correspondent. He was great to work with.

The shoot was definitely lively and an experience to remember, many protesters were kicked out of the event.

For the shoot, we used a XDCam F800 and used a long ENG lens — this was wide enough to get the live stand-ups of the reporter and long enough to get a shot of Trump on the podium. We also used the Odyssey as a monitor because it is great for making sure color and focus is correct. 

While our shot looked great and was going out, we rain into a slight problem when our satellite truck got a busy signal as we were trying to stream our feed. Oops, they fixed the problem and we made air. Such is a life in live TV.
