Next door was GS Tucker Furniture Company. Bill Bryant got Ed his first job there after high school.

Ed Bryant, Mildred & Bill Bryant, Sally Bryant (Clarence had died). rented this house from 1956-1965. Ed and Brenda were married in 1963 and moved to Richmond, VA based on a Rose's Department Store transfer. Bill Bryant left and moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1961 with family friend Billie Fay Bullard. Ronnie Web lived right down the street.

Wilson Apartment (rental)

Brenda & Ed Bryant were there while Ed continued with Rose's in Wilson. Ed had first worked for Rose's as a stock boy and then was offered a management position. They transferred them to Richmond, VA and then Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Brenda Bryant also moved here from Wilson to Paul Street in 1968 when Ed (then called Ray) was drafted in the Army.

Pine View Cementary in Rocky Mount, NC

Sally; William Clarence and Bill Bryant (there's one plot still open and owned by William Bland Bryant). Mildred elected to be buried in Nashville Cementary.There plots are near the flag pole across the road from JD Winston Family Plot (owner of Auto Equip Company).

Worked in meat department as the only woman butcher in Rocky Mount. 1950-1970?

She worked for a small local owned grocery store for a couple of years & then A & P opened and offered her two or three times more money.

Mildred Bryant Hendricks; Logan McGout Richardson "Goy" (ryhmes with boy); and Sanchez Richardson. There's one open plot for Faye Richardson. Kit Carson "Buck" Richardson is also in Nashville Cemetary. He died in 1967 in an auto accident.

Richardson Home (Hamilton Farm)

Goy farmed this land with Black Sharecroppers, some of which were descendants from near by slave plantations. He also ran a "country store" where many of the basic supplies were purchased. Sanchez Richardson's sister lived at the next farm over (a mile or so down the road... corner of Old Spring Hope & Erkin Smith). Mr. Hamilton owned several businesses including the farm and he gave Goy a percentage for running it.In the 50's Goy moved to Newport News to be a ferry boat captain, but soon came back to Hamilton Farm.

Mildred was still working at A&P in Rocky Mount. She had just married Bill Hendricks. One of his close friends sold Bill the Minit Shop and the house next to it. Mildred quit the A& P to run the minit shop.

Mildred Bryant Hendricks and Bill Richardson

In 1977 Bill Hendricks died. Bill Bryant had been manager of JAck's Minit Shop in Jacksonville, FL. She committed suicide (after being diagnosed with Cancer) and Bill decided to move to Aiken, SC where Ed and Brenda now lived. He bought a Mobile gas and service station and later married Madge Gibson (of Aiken, SC). Madge was a neighbor of Brenda and Ed's. 5 or 6 years later he sold the Mobile station and he and Madge moved to Spring Hope to help Mildred run the gas station. Madge and Bill broke-up and then he married Carrie (also of Aiken). Shortly there after he died and Mildred decided to sell the Minit Shop.

Richardson Home (Rental Farm) between Nashville & Rocky Mount

1955-1958?

Goy Richardson left the Hamilton Farm for a better deal at this farm, but didn't like it very much... he stopped farming and moved to Dorches around 1958.

Goy and Sanchez Richardson stayed in this house and Jerry and later Faye rented the house across the street.
