Tom’s experience encompasses award winning documentaries, music
videos, TV commercials, narrative drama, corporate productions, and
live national broadcasts. He regularly lenses projects for Atlantic
Records, Turner Sports, Fox Sports, Lifetime Network and NBC News,
working with renowned talent including T.I., Willie Nelson, Usher, Liv
Tyler, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Alyssa Milano to name a few. His
corporate clients include the likes of Verizon, Intuit, Macy’s, MUSC,
and The Department of Aviation.

Tom carried a video camera around everywhere as a teenager, looking
for any excuse to film what was going on around him, so it was no
surprise when his first endeavor into video production during college
was documentary based. His passion for the craft led to both shooting
and editing PBS and corporate based documentaries while in college,
and freelancing on other documentary assignments while earning his
Masters Degree in Liberal Studies. Signing on with Go To Team in 2004,
Tom completed the highly successful apprenticeship program and vastly
expanded his clientele. Now a Partner in the company and Director of
Photography, Tom bases himself in Atlanta, GA to service clients both
locally and nationally. In an effort to continue the apprenticeship
tradition, Tom now serves as a mentor in Go To Team’s federally
accredited apprenticeship program designed to develop new Directors of
Photography.

Tom’s technical background includes everything HD, and working for a
wide range of clients over the years has allowed him to develop his
own diverse arsenal of lighting techniques and a comprehensive
understanding of production. Along with a rock-steady shoulder he also
has extensive aerial shooting experience with Tyler mounts, jibs of
all sizes and various dolly systems. Simply put, if you’ve got Tom on

Biography:

Tom Wells, Director of Photography, based in Atlanta, Georgia is known for terrific lighting and jib work. He recently wrote the Producer’s Guide to Charleston, South Carolina in an effort to help producers coming to South Carolina and Charleston to shoot for the first time. It details a lot of the places and events to shoot in Charleston.

Tom travels with an extensive equipment list including full lighting and sound to include a full Arri lighting kit with chimeras, up to four wireless microphones, and tons of extras. He often uses the Micro Dolly Jib for quick amazing video shots. The quick set-up and ability for high shots really add to any video production. Our Charleston office has both the Panasonic Varicam for High Definition video shoots and Beta SP Sony D600 for high end standard shoots. Additionally Tom travels with a several HMI lights, and a light grip package.
