Director of Photography Skip Clark based in Los Angeles, California
Director of Photography and partner, Skip Clark, has traveled the United States and internationally shooting for news and sports broadcasters as well for cable broadcast and documentary programming.
As a teenager, Skip started his career at an independent television station in Ohio, a position that laid the foundation for the next 12 years. After Mansfield, Skip moved to Columbia, SC, to take the Chief Photographer’s position at the ABC affiliate,WOLO. He spent two years there building a solid staff while improving his own skills. While there he traveled overseas covering assignments in Bosnia and Macedonia.
In the summer of 2000, Skip joined Go To Team. It was leap for both Skip and Go To Team as Patrick and Dwaine took a chance on a young cameraman. But with youth came energy and fresh ideas. In his first five years with Go To Team, Skip found himself on several big stories, such as seven months on the 2000 campaign trail, the 2002 Olympics, 9-11, and countless hurricanes, including Hurricane Katrina.
He’s traveled his gear on aircraft carriers, through the rough terrain of the Costa Rican rain forest, and the swamps of the South Carolina low country. Lately, Skip has been spending a lot of time in the sports arena. A chance assignment in the spring of 2005 sent him to a NASCAR race in Darlington, SC, and ever since he has been developing the sports clientele for Go To Team. His work in the sports arena brought Go To Team to HD and has since then been a leader in the industry through the transition to HD.
Look for his work on Fox Sports broadcasts, NBC Nightly News, ABC World News tonight, HBO, Dateline NBC, the Food Network, the History Channel, A&E, Discovery Channel, and ESPN. All of this work in news, sports, and cable broadcast has helped Skip build a unique skill set that is perfect for high-end corporate work as well. He approaches corporate work with the exacting standards that are required for success in the broadcast market. Some of his corporate clients include Coca-Cola, UPS, John Deere, Chick-Fil-A, and Wachovia Bank.
Just five years after joining Go To Team, Skip is now a partner in the company. His big initiative when partnering with the company was to further develop their Apprenticeship program. Skip has been helped along the way so many times by other mentoring cameramen and Directors of Photography that it seemed only natural to continue that tradition.
